What are we doing?

✅ Updated lemmy to v0.19.5 from v0.19.3

⏳ Updating to pict-rs to v0.5.9

❌ Currently the main lemmy ui is having issues, due to pict-rs migration.

Why is this taking so long?

The pict-rs upgrade is taking its sweet time migrating the database to the new version.

Unfortunately the stock-standard lemmy-ui doesn't like it that pict-rs is migrating to a new version of database and not serving images like it would prefer it to, so it's stubbornly just not working at all.

Fortunately if you use an alternate app to access, or an alternate frontend like Photon, Alexandrite and Mlmym you'll be fine.

From what I can tell it'll be about another 5 hours to complete, which will put it at around .

Being that it's close to midnight where I live, I'm going to have to go to bed and check on it in the morning.

Why are we doing this?

To get performance, and usability improvements.
